There is a particular kind of thinking that only happens when our hands are occupied with something simple, usually out in the gardens. The clematis vines are putting out beautiful summer growth, and today it was time to help them grow up the trellis… and the process ended up being a restful time to settle and recenter.

We don’t solve anything out here… but we don’t try to. We snip, tie, and move on to the next delicate little vine wanting help… and somewhere in the middle of all of it something deep inside settles.

We didn’t plan for a miniature horse when we started Artis Flora - but we didn’t plan for a lot of things that turned out to be the best parts.
